Silent Hill 2 remake announced for PS5, PC, from Konami and Bloober Team

Konami will be bringing you Silent Hill 2The original psychological horror movie, widely considered the greatest entry in this franchise, is being remade for modern consoles. Silent Hill 2Konami revealed Wednesday that the PlayStation 5 and Windows PC will be coming in 2023 during their Silent Hill Transmission livestream.

The Silent Hill 2Remake appears to be an all-new version of the game. This was evident in a trailer which featured high-detail graphics and new audio. Original Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka and artist Masahiro Ito are collaborating on the remake’s development.

It is being described as a timed-exclusive PlayStation 5 console remake, and a Windows PC version.

Original Silent Hill 2It was first released on the PlayStation 2 in 2001. Later, it became available for Xbox and Windows PC. That version of the game was developed by Konami’s Team Silent. This game focused on James Sunderland (the protagonist), who travels to Silent Hill after receiving an email from his wife informing that she was still waiting for him. Silent Hill 2 tells a story of grief, as manifestations of James’ psychological state — including the iconic monster Pyramid Head — force him to confront his guilty conscience. Silent Hill 2 Built on the game’s original gameplay, Pyramid Head featured unforgettable music by Akira Yamaoka, composer, and Masahiro Ito, artist, who created it.
