Sega and Creative Assembly announce Hyenas, a zero-G FPS with a twist

Sega, Creative Assembly and the Developer Behind Isolation of Alienand Total War, it revealed an all-new multiplayer sci fi first-person shooter called HyenasThis Wednesday. The new game, coming to consoles and PC, puts players in the role of a pack of scavengers who fight to steal “priceless pop culture loot from the Mars billionaires and rival crews.” As seen in Hyenas’ reveal trailer, that loot includes Sonic the Hedgehog figures, Rubik’s Cubes, and a very well-preserved pastrami on rye from Katz’s Delicatessen.

According to the game’s official description, in the fiction of Hyenas:

The Earth is dead, Mars has been colonized by the riches, while the remainder of humanity lives in The Taint which is an orbiting, grim slum. Mars billionaires have a different agenda. They want to fulfill their nostalgic fantasies, while humanity struggles for survival. Plunderships are massive spacecrafts that sell salvaged pop culture artifacts from Earth at high prices in order to fulfill their nostalgic dreams.

Battles in HyenasThe event will occur in zero gravity using futuristic weapons as well as defensive measures such protective foam, which can be used to lock down your opponents or create on-the-fly walls. Register to participate in the alpha test. Hyenas at the game’s official website.

HyenasThis is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. An official release date has not been announced.
