Scream 6: Ghostface hunts Jenna Ortega in New York City in a new twist

Ghostface returns for another slasher. Scream 6. The trailer to the sequel to 2022’s ScreamFans got their first glimpse at Wednesday’s new installment in this (mostly) great horror series after months of social media teasers. Scream 6It will be released on March 10, 2023.

The cast (including the killers) heads to New York City this time, which gives the franchise a fresh setting and new look. Ghostface is seen terrorizing people on a subway train with other halloween-ready, masked riders. There are many horror-movie slashers, monsters, and other slashers who have gone to Manhattan with their deadly talents (remember Jason going?), it will be interesting to see how the Big Apple translates to a Scream movie, and what it means for the franchise’s meta element.

Scream 6Cast members of the first entry will be back, including Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera as well as Hayden Pnettiere and Courteney cox, who returned from earlier movies. This is the second entry in the franchise that won’t involve horror-legend Wes Craven, who died in 2015. The horror team responsible for the previous entry took over from Craven. Ready to go or not, directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, part of Radio Silence with this movie’s executive producer, Chad Villella.
