Resident Evil 4 remake an Armored Garrador chained to the wall in the Antechamber

Capcom via Polygon

The fight in the Antechamber is chaotic and there’s no secret solution to it (that we can find). Here are some general suggestions:

  • As many zealots as you can. Melee and parrying don’t make enough noise for the Garradors to notice or care.

Capcom via Polygon

  • Crouch often. Crouching makes you a little quieter, but it can also get you below the Garradors’ sweeping claw attacks.
  • Both heavy and hand grenades, as well as heavier grenades, are useful because they cause damage to Zealots. Also the Garradors will be distracted by the explosion.

Capcom via Polygon

  • Ring the bells — there are three around the room(s) — to draw the Garradors’ attention. Even the gun used to ring it will be outstripped by a bell ringing. They’ll crash into the wall behind the bell and stun themselves for several seconds.
  • If the Garradors don’t know you are there or if you get stuck behind them, they will let you sneak up on you to attack their parasite. Although their fronts are very well protected, the parasite that lives on their spines is always exposed.

  • The Garradors will lure zealots to their side. The Garradors crave only violence, so they’ll dice anything that gets in their way, including zealots and, occasionally, each other.
  • While the Bolt Thrower may be good, it is superior to the Bolt Thrower With Attachable Mines. When the mines explode, the Garrador’s will head to the source of the sound.
