Remedy Provides Update On Control 2, Says Max Payne Remakes Are In ‘Production Readiness Stage’

Remedy Entertainment released Alan Wake 2 last week, and both fans and critics alike seem to be pleased with the long-awaited sequel – you can read Game Informer Alan Wake 2 Review here. The studio also provided updates on some of the games that it is currently developing, such as Control 2 and Max Payne 1 & 2.
Remedy has released its earnings report for 2023’s third quarter. It states, “Alan Wake2 launched to an excellent reception and laid the groundwork for the future of the company.” [the]The studio says, “The game has just been launched and it is not able to provide any information on its financial performance.” The studio claims that “[We]We will continue to improve Alan Wake 2 and develop the two announced extensions, adding “Alan Wake 2 represents the first of several great new games launched enabled by the multi-projects model that we have developed over the past years.”
Remedy, the developer of Condor (a cooperative multiplayer video game), has announced that this game is now at a stage where it can be produced. The company says they have “gained invaluable insights in developing service based games” and are better positioned to develop a game which players will enjoy for years.
Remedy, in collaboration with Tencent and under the codename Vanguard is set to reach the “proof of concept” stage before the end the year.
The studio made the announcement in April of last spring that they were remaking Max Payne & Max Payne 2. The Fall of Max Payne. This was after reaching a deal to remake the game with Rockstar Games who owns the franchise. Now, a year and a half later, Remedy says Max Payne 1 & 2 remake (which is a single game) has “progressed into the production readiness stage.”
In the report, it says: “We’ve gained clarity about the style and scope the game and have an extremely well-organized group working on this.” We are very excited by these accomplishments and the potential success of the game.
And finally, Remedy’s earning reports state that Control 2 continues to be in the proof-of-concept stage. The report states that “the plans for this second sequel are ambitious and we’ve seen great progress in both the design and the build of the game.” The game is now better able to engage players for many years. We’ve gained invaluable insights in developing service-based video games.
Remedy claims that after Alan Wake 2 is released, these four upcoming games “will benefit from additional talent transfer from Alan Wake 2 in order to enable the teams take the necessary next steps.”
