Prior to even starting the tedious task of making this title new, the Motive team decided that reaching out was the number one priority. Why? Our primary objective was to keep the original version of our website as accurate as possible.
It was important for the team to seek out feedback from passionate players rather than just relying on the internal opinions of others as they worked through the game. This is the question: “What do the players really want from a remake?”Always front and centre.
Rebuilding the game for the Frostbite engine presented new opportunities to modernize every aspect of the game – from new 3D atmospheric audio to refined Visual Effects (VFX) that help intensify the mystery, tension, and immersion for players on today’s platforms.
That’s not to say, of course, updating visual and audio effects were the only changes being made. Beyond the jaw-dropping visual fidelity and suspenseful atmospheric audio updates, there are also improvements to gameplay including updating Zero-G traversal, refined combat/dismemberment, enemy damage effects, and more. New side-quests, lore and character stories, from the original three games, are all added to enrich the story for veterans and new players.
You have never seen the original. Dead Space, it’s a sci-fi survival horror game where you assume the role as Isaac Clarke, an engineer tasked with repairing the USG Ishimura. Your beloved partner goes missing and the rest of the crew is gone.
