In this guide, we’ve listed out all of the most important changes in Overwatch 2 This will help you to jump in again without skipping a beat.
Model of free-to play
This is the most significant and notable shift in Overwatch 2 is that it’s free-to-play. You can download it from the Battle.net App on your PC or console. You don’t have to convince your friends or family members to purchase Overwatch so that you can all play together.
However, as you might expect, that free-to-play tag comes stronger monetization tactics from Blizzard — like locking new heroes behind the new battle pass system — which we’ll get to below.
Let the fight be won

Blizzard has completely changed Overwatch’s Inflation Overwatch 2. Instead of loot boxes, you’ll be able to complete special Challenges to level up a battle pass — like many other modern shooters. New cosmetics come from the battle pass, as do new heroes — like Kiriko. You unlock the new kind of skin called a a after you have completed the battle pass. MythicGenji will be the first to get it, which can be customized and has a stunning appearance.
Blizzard will then replace the old battle pass with one new for about a month, making it impossible to access any of the rewards. It is best to use the ideal. Overwatch 2Updates should occur far more often than they did in the initial.
5-v-5 multiplayer
Blizzard’s biggest change is the one they are making with Overwatch 2This is the number of players in any given match. The original Overwatch Multiplayer matches were offered with up to six players in two teams. Overwatch 2 instead pits Two teams of fiveThey can’t compete against one another. This allows teams to be broken up into one tank and two damage-dealing characters, as well as two support characters.

The new way of doing things
PushThis is the new way to go Overwatch 2It works a lot like a Payload match. The idea is that there are two barricades that spawn in the middle of the map — one for each team. The robot that players control by standing beside it is situated in the middle. The robot will push the barricade toward the enemy of whichever team is controlling it, and the goal is to push your enemy’s barricade all the way into their home base.
There is a catch: the robot’s barricades will not move if it is taken over by another team. While the ultimate goal of the mission is to drive the robot into enemy territory and make it go further, the only way to win is for the robot to move the barricade slightly more than the enemy. It’s a hectic mode that’s very momentum based, and often goes to time.
The old way is gone
The original Overwatch Assault was also known as two-point capture. This mode was removed. Overwatch 2.
If you don’t remember Assault, it was the game mode where there were multiple capture points. These points would be attacked by attackers, and defense would require them to be defended. It was visible on Volskaya Industries and Temple of Anubis maps.

All heroes have now a unique role-specific perk. After killing enemies, damage characters have faster movement and reload speeds, tanks can be harder to defeat, and support members are now able to heal.
You can find even more cosmetics
New cosmetics are constantly being developed. Overwatch 2, and you’ll get them in new ways (as we mentioned above). However, there are other options. Types Cosmetics will be a focus this time. There are weapon charms that you can attach to your guns (or to your character’s hand, if they don’t use weapons), souvenir objects you can make your characters hold in an emote-like fashion, and the brand new Mythic skin we mentioned above.
