Pokémon Go Will Celebrate Diamond And Pearl Remakes With Special Events

Niantic is rolling out a series of special events in Pokémon Go to celebrate the releases of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The events detailed on the Pokémon Go website begin next week and feature catchable Sinnoh starters with new hats, collectible Trainer costumes, and more!

Beginning November 16th, Sinnoh starters Turtwig and Chimchar can be found out in nature wearing either a Lucas or Dawn hat. Any of these Pokémon can be found in their shiny variants as well! The event will also halve the number of steps needed to hatch Pokémon eggs in incubators and lower the Super Incubator steps to one-third of the usual step count required.

Speaking of the Sinnoh starters, you can deck out your Trainer Avatar in adorable costumes based on the trio (pictured above) starting on November 15. The oneies are available in the game shop. They will still be in stock after the event. Although no prices were given by Niantic, they can be bought from there. The player will receive new products based upon the standard Diamond and Pearl trainers style starting November 15 at no additional cost. Below is a look at what these items look like.

Pokestop Spins and opening Gifts are also ways to get stickers. There will be two packages available at the shop, so grab them while they last.

  • Event Box (one-time exchange): 20 Poké Balls, one Sinnoh Stone
  • Great Box (300 PokéCoins): three Super Incubators, two Incubators, one Lure Module

Niantic has also confirmed a bunch of Diamond and Pearl Pokémon other than the starters will be available in the wild, hatched from eggs, and found in raids over the course of two mini-events. Here’s which Pokémon, where you can find them, and when:
