PlayStation Reveals Six New Games Coming To PSVR2, Including Fantavision Sequel
A new PlayStation Blog post highlights six new PlayStation VR2 titles coming from various Japanese developers, including a sequel to the 2000 PlayStation 2 rhythm game, Fantavision.
Other games announced include action game Altair Breaker, rhythm game Kizuna AI – Touch the Beat!, and more. Let’s see what PlayStation says about each one of these new games.
Fantavision 200X
Fantavision, a puzzle-rhythm video game that was released for the PS2 in 2000 is considered a classic. Since its original release in 2000, the series had been neglected. However, Cosmo Machia Inc. plans to bring it back with Fantavision 2002X.
The blog entry states that the game “is an artistic mixture of action, shooting strategy and puzzles.” The PS VR2 headset, PS VR2 Sense controller and PlayStation VR2 Sense are immersive experiences that allow you to light up the sky filled with stars.
Fantavision202X requires you to capture at least three identical fireworks and then shoot them into the night. Wild Fireworks allows you to shoot fireworks with multiple colors. To get Starmine’s bonus mode, collect items in your session. You can shoot fireworks with the Sense controller by aiming at them, and then pulling the trigger on your controller. Then, press circle to fire the fireworks.
According to the PlayStation Blog, “In addition the single-player modes, there is also a replay option.” The PlayStation Blog states that you can alter the view of your camera for amazing replays. You can also stop the show in its entirety, change effects and create different effects. The haptic feedback allows you to feel the fireworks’ vibrations, so that your full attention is on the spectacular fireworks show.
Fantavision 200X will be available on PSVR2 starting February 22, 2023.
Altair Breaker
The blog entry states that “Multiplayer sword fighting action is coming to PS VR2 with the Altair Breaker.” Altair is an AI-created virtual realm that was once home to a stunning archipelago, surrounded by clouds. One floating island is left, now that it has been destroyed by all its brethren. Its ruins are home to an experimental combat AI, governed by Laws-Zero, a fully autonomous weapon. This place is dangerous and you will need to travel there in order to confront the evil creatures up close.
As you fly through the air and climb the walls of the island, as well as performing aerial combos and using AOE attacks, the game allows up to 3 players.
Altair Breaker will be available on PSVR2 starting February 22, 2023.
The Tale of Onogoro
Amata K.K. is the creator of Last Labyrinth. The Tale of Onogoro is coming to PSVR2 February 22nd as a co-op adventure. The Tale of Onogoro is a new co-op adventure that sees players be thrust into a parallel universe where they will need to team up with Hal, a shrine maiden from the island. To defeat Onogoro’s five giant Kami, you will need to work together and solve puzzles.
The PlayStation Blog says that you are the legendary Celestial Weapon and can manipulate objects or fire Ki once you have absorbed it. However, there are some problems only Hal can solve. You share your health with Hal making it even more crucial for you both to prevent injury. You can still hold your hands and help Hal in difficult situations.
The Tale of Onogoro debuts on PSVR2 February 22, 2023.
Kizuna AI – Touch the Beat!
Kizuna AI – Touch the Beat! Gemdrops, Inc. is developing a rhythm game for PSVR2. This rhythm game will also be available on PSVR2 by developer Gemdrops, Inc. The flatscreen mode of the game allows PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 gamers to experience it. Players will be able to make use of the Sense controllers as penlights in order to hit colored boxes at the right time to match KizunaAI’s live performance. Or, they can use the View Mode for free movement around the stage.
Gemdrops, Inc. claims that the team plans to release a range of DLC after the game is released. These include additional songs, costumes, and a singing-specific AI (Kizunachan) as well as #kzn-chan songs.
Kizuna AI – Touch the Beat! PSVR2 will be available on February 22nd, 2023.
Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate
Dyschronia Chronos Alternative is a VR investigative game by MyDearest Inc.. This VR game was created by the makers of Altdeus and Tokyo Chronos for PSVR. Dyschronia is set in the future, in Astrum Close (a seaport city). The city’s crime rate is only.001% due to the “dreams” that are capable of preventing crimes. Professor Rumford, who was the founder of the city, is assassinated. Hal Scion must now investigate the matter to discover what really happened.
The blog posts states that the investigation will use Memory Dive to conduct the inquiry. This ability allows players to reach back into the past and touch objects using their left hands, reliving owners’ memories. You can alter the past by interfering in an owner’s decisions at the time their fate diverges. Lily the navigator robot is an ally and can offer unexpected clues.
You can also access the Augmented Dreaming network to see the Augmented Dreaming universe that integrates the dreams of people. This game features a VR experience that allows you to explore two worlds, the one where the crime occurred as well as the Augmented Dreaming world. Both worlds offer completely different environments. Find out the truth behind this mysterious event by exploring the dual-faceted fields.
On February 22, 2023, Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate will launch on PSVR2.
X8
Today’s last game is X8, a brand new multiplayer tactical shooter 5v5 that comes to PSVR2. Every match is played out in multiple rounds of three minutes. Each round sees the attacker group place and explode explosives, while their defenders try to block them. Every hero has a different weapon and a trio specialized abilities that can be activated by specific Sense controller gestures. The game supports crossplay and more game modes will be added in the future.
While X8 is not currently available, the release date will come soon.
