PlayStation 5 Surpasses 30 Million Units Sold, CEO Jim Ryan Indicates Shortage Might Be Over

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that the company has sold 30,000,000 PlayStation 5 consoles worldwide since 2020’s launch.

The company made this announcement at CES 2023, when Jim Ryan, the PlayStation CEO, shared these numbers with words that suggest the PS5 shortage may be ending soon. PlayStation also touched on its upcoming PSVR2 release and accompanying 30-plus game lineup, and pulled back the curtains on its new customizable accessibility controller kit, Project Leonardo.

Ryan spoke on the stage at the Sony conference, “We really appreciate your support and patience as we managed unprecedented demands amid global challenges over two years.” The PS5 stock improved towards the end last year and I am happy to report that December was the largest month for PS5 sales ever and that more than 30,000,000 units have been sold to customers worldwide. Everybody who desires a PS5 console should find it easier to buy one from retailers around the globe starting at this moment.

It is clear that Ryan and PlayStation have confidence in the supply of PS5 Consoles worldwide. It seems that now is the right time to search retail stores again if you are still looking for one.
