No Man’s Sky Interceptor update makes Sentinels deadlier

No Man’s Sky’s newest update. Today’s Interceptor update. The free update includes the new Interceptor starships and Sentinel-corrupted worlds as well as new enemies. This update to the Interceptor powers down the Sentinel bots that plague players while they explore planets. The robots have new varieties and powers as well as the capability of taking over whole worlds.

The strange worlds of corrupted planets have crystals that push out from the ground. They’re guarded by Sentinels — but unfortunately, the immense powers of the corruption have affected the robots, giving them new forms. The surface of these planets is littered with new buildings and powerful Sentinel jetpacks. There are also many crashed Interceptors.

According to the update’s official page, corrupted Sentinels are now ”semi-arachnid machines” with “devastating flamethrowers and long-distance explosives.” These drones are much more tactical than their non-corrupted peers, and they will relentlessly hunt players. Space combat players can face corrupted Sentinel capital vessels in thrilling starship battles.

Even if you’re not on a corrupted planet, Sentinels still pack more of a punch due to improvements to Sentinel Quads. This combat robot now has new animations, smart pathfinding and can activate stealth fields.

Plus, Interceptor’s update includes improved access to VR menus, new Nexus missions, and a beautiful new cape. Fractal, the first big update of 2023, laid the groundwork with many other VR improvements, so it’ll be interesting to see how the galaxy looks through a VR headset. No Man’s SkyIt is accessible on PCs and consoles as well as virtual reality on PCs or via a PlayStation VR2.
