No Man’s Sky: Fractal Update is available today

We’re excited to let you know that today we are releasing our first major update of 2023. We’re calling it Fractal (version 4.1).

Fractal Update: The Utopia Speeder is a new, stunning starship that allows travelers to glide across surface of planets at very high speed.

We’re also launching a new Expedition- Utopia- which challenges players to work together and rebuild an abandoned solar system for the mysterious Utopia Foundation. There is more to life than meets the eye. A new crafting system for expeditions will challenge players to rethink their views on survival, exploration, and construction. Additional expedition rewards include the Fearsome Visor helmet and a companion robotic drone.

The new Wonders Catalogue is a tool for exploration-minded gamers. The Wonders Catalogue showcases all your amazing discoveries, including the tallest mountains and strangest creatures. This detailed record of your journey not only allows you to easily compare records with fellow travellers, but gives explorers new goals as they set out to find and document the universe’s most unusual sights.

Also, the options menu was completely reworked. This introduced a number of accessibility features that allow players to have more control over how they experience and play the game. What’s more, these new system features and controls are joined by even more in-game quality of life changes and improvements.

2022 was a pretty packed year for No Man’s Sky with major free updates like Sentinel, Outlaws, Leviathan, Endurance, and Waypoint, plus a whole suite of expeditions. We’ve got an even bigger year planned for 2023, with Fractal marking just the starting point.
