Nintendo Won’t Be Unveiling Any New Hardware This Fiscal Year

Nintendo is also plagued by shortages of components and supply issues, just like PlayStation and Xbox. This might explain why a recent Nikkei report – relayed by Bloomberg’s game and tech writer, Takashi Mochizuki (see below) – stated that there wouldn’t be new hardware releases this fiscal year.

Mochizuki tweets that “There will not be new Nintendo hardware during this fiscal year. It ends March 2023. It is not immediately clear if that section of the article was written by Nikkei or if it came from the interview with the Nintendo President.

For all the Nintendo fans speculating a Switch “Pro” release – sorry, it looks like that’s not happening any time soon. The Switch has sold 111 million units, however overall sales have fallen 22.9%. Maybe Nintendo will make hardware announcements once the fiscal year ends.
