1300 years from the events of How to train your dragonModern times have made dragons a mere legend. When a geological anomaly opens up an immense, miles-deep fissure in the Earth’s surface, scientists from all over the world gather at a new research facility to study the mysterious phenomenon. Soon a group of misfit kids, brought to the site by their parents, uncover the truth about dragons and where they’ve been hiding — a secret they must keep to themselves to protect what they’ve discovered.
As the series takes place over a millennium after the events of the movie trilogy, it’s massively unlikely that Hiccup, Astrid, or Toothless will make appearances. But the dragon featured in the little teaser bears a resemblance to Toothless and the Lightfury’s multicolored offspring, so the legend lives on in another way.
