Netflix’s League of Legends anime Arcane is co-streamable on Twitch
This is the first episode ArcaneThe League of Legends Riot Games’ animated series and Netflix’s Netflix cartoons will only be available on Twitch. The announcement was made Monday.
The show, which premieres at 7 p.m. PDT on Nov. 6, will be accompanied by a “Global Premiere Event” to be broadcast by streamers in more than 30 countries, and is free to co-stream for all fans. Riot Games’ headquarters will be hosting the premier event, which includes a red carpet and pre-show.
Arcane Three acts will be featured in each episode, so you’ll get nine episodes total. And, unlike many Netflix series, not all episodes are going to drop simultaneously. Acts 2 and 3 of ArcaneNetflix’s Nov. 13 and 20, respectively, will be the debuts.
As an incentive to watch episode one on Twitch, fans will get exclusive in-game items for Riot’s titles via Twitch drops during the show.
“The premiere of the show will be at the center of a global celebration for gamers and fans of the League of Legends IP,” Monday’s statement said. The League of Legends World Championship, which got underway Oct. 8, concludes on Nov. 6.; Riot’s news release noted that last year’s championship drew 49.45 million concurrent viewers, worldwide.
“Arcane dives into the delicate balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun,” the news release said. “While Arcane holds the backstories of League of Legends champions, the series is designed to stand on its own as a complex world filled with moral decisions, breathtaking animation, and suspenseful storytelling.”
