Netflix reviving Iron Chef, with Alton Brown and Kristin Kish as hosts

One of reality TV’s best culinary competitions is coming back. Netflix announced Monday that it is returning Iron Chef and Alton Brown as its American host. The series will also bring back Mark Dacascos who played “The Chairman” during the show’s original run, and add Chef de CuisineKristen Kish will be the host. New series to be named Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron LegendThe film will be available on Netflix from June 15th.

Iron ChefBefore being adapted, it was originally a Japanese series of television. Iron Chef AmericaThis 13-season series ran on Food Network. In the series, challenger chefs were pitted against established professionals in challenging cooking tasks that focused often on one ingredient. There were also several spinoffs of the show, such as themed specials and regional competitions in Canada and the United Kingdom, among others. Original version Iron Chef American was also hosted by Alton Brown and Mark Dacascos’ Chairman character, as well as Kevin Brauch, who it seems Kish will take over for.
