MTG’s Lord of the Rings cards include an ultra-rare one-of-one One Ring

Magic: The Gathering’s next big crossover series — Tales of Middle-earth from The Lord of the Rings — got a splashy, one-hour preview on Tuesday highlighted by the reveal of the truly one-of-a-kind One Ring card. It’s here for you to see:

That’s right, like the One Ring itself, there is only one of these cards, a serialized, foil-printed, 1-of-1 collectible printed in the Black Speech of Sauron. Only one person will ever find the rare card.One (un?)lucky fan will find this card when he/she buys a Collector Booster package Tales of Middle-earth from The Lord of the Rings When the series will launch later in summer.

You might be able find collector booster versions of the Sol Ring if the One Ring is lost. They are themed after the Rings of Power made for Dwarves, Elves and the humans of Middle-earth. Wizards of the Coast revealed that 300 serialized double rainbow foiled Elven Sol Ring cards, as well 700 Dwarven Sol Rings (and 900 Human Sol Rings) will be published. A limited edition of 19,000. will print the non-foil Sol Ring Cards.

Tales of Middle-earth from The Lord of the Rings will feature dozens more representations of fans’ favorite characters, places, and scenes from the fantasy trilogy. The cards are legal in Modern and Commander formats, as well as draft and sealed deck formats.
