Hearthstone rocks out with next expansion Festival of Legends

Next Hearthstoneexpansion merges card gaming with rock concert fervor. Blizzard announced Festival of Legends on Tuesday, along with a trailer that showed off a little bit of the expansion’s theme and flavor. The legends of HearthstoneThe Festival of Legends, a huge music festival held in Thousand Needles is the Festival of Legends. In addition to the musicians and artists represented by the expansion, there will also be other people such as roadies and songwriters at the celebration.

Festival of LegendsA new keyword is introduced: Finale. The player who depletes his remaining mana by using a Finale cards will receive an extra bonus which ensures that the turn ends in a tasty bonus.

Three cards will be given to each class: one card from a legend musician and another for a song they love. The third card is their weapon of choice. Warriors prefer rock stars, while Paladins love disco. In a surprising twist, the Shaman class can also enjoy jazz, while the Warlock musician favors classical music.

Festival of LegendsSoloists are a new type of minion: These minions are at their best when they’re alone on the field, so players should drop them when there are no other creatures on their side of the board. The new harmonic spells offer strategic options. They can swing between the Harmonic and Dissonant modes each round. For example, which would you prefer to give +4 attack two random minions or to hang on and give +2 attack four random minions. There’s no universally right answer; it depends on the specific game.

Technically, metal concerts are canon. World of WarcraftSince quite some while now. Elite Tauren chieftain is also known by ETC. It’s a heavy metal band that Blizzard employees manage. These musicians occasionally show up in-game to entertain fans. ETC was even featured on the Blizzard Employees’ List.
