Minecraft Legends Launches This April With Cross Platform Multiplayer

Today’s Xbox Developer Direct revealed a lot of information regarding Minecraft Legends. This is Mojang’s latest Minecraft spinoff. We also learned new information about PvP. The game will be available on Xbox and PC in April 18th, just months away. It will also be available as a Game Pass first-party title. A new gameplay trailer has been released, which can be viewed below.

If you’re unfamiliar, Minecraft Legends is an action strategy game where players explore a procedurally generated world to find resources, build bases, and save the overworld. The campaign can be played either solo or in co-op. Players work together to prevent Piglins from invading the world of the Nether. Traditional Minecraft allows the player to place each block individually, but this game gives you the ability to create on a much larger scale by placing traps, walls and turrets.

In the PvP mode, two teams of up to four players will face off in a battle to destroy the other team’s base. The world, like the campaign, is procedurally generated so each match will be unique. Mojang Interactive and Blackbird Interactive shared their top strategies during the show, including layering walls with traps between them or searching the globe for rare mobs. Multiplayer allows cross-platform play as well as online matchmaking.

The Xbox website announced in a blog that the Deluxe Edition will be made available as a launch option. It includes the base game and a bonus pack of skins. Minecraft Legends is available April 18.
