Microsoft Flight Simulator Celebrates gamescom with Its First-Ever City Update and Shares New Details for Its 40th Anniversary Edition

Gamescom is back! Microsoft Flight SimulatorThe first ever City Update was released today by. It features five photogrammetry German cities. Simmers can even spot the Koelnmesse which is home to the famed gamescom. You can download the update free of charge from in-sim right now.

Additionally, Microsoft Flight SimulatorThe team shared more details on the exciting upcoming release 40^ThAnniversary Edition. To those with a valid ownership, it will be free to them on November 11th 2022. Microsoft Flight SimulatorXbox Game Pass Members and include, for the first-time since 2006, helicopters or gliders. These are the most sought after enhancements in our community. Aside from the gliders and helicopters, we’ll introduce another community-requested enhancement: the Airbus A-310. This sophisticated airliner is true to life, with almost all buttons working as expected.

Seven iconic historical airplanes are part of the celebration. Microsoft Flight Simulator Fort^ThAnniversary Edition. These include the 1903 Wright Flyer and 1915 Curtiss JN-4 Jenny. The 1927 Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis is also available.

Four classic airports will also be added, including Meigs Field in Chicago. This is the traditional start airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The update celebrates the history and beauty of aviation.
