Metroid Dread player discovers easy Kraid boss battle technique
Metroid DreadKraid is back as a villain, the giant Space Pirate Samus Aran fought in the original MetroidThe (and Zero Mission(Remake) Super Metroid In It is a terrible placeKraid’s demeanor is worse than ever. As many other bosses in the country, Kraid also has a bad reputation. Metroid DreadKraid can really be annoying! There is a way players can beat Kraid quickly and amusingly, however it requires a different challenge.
Expert Metroid player Glaedrax showed off a trick to beating Kraid over the weekend, one that involves something many players won’t have in their arsenal when they reach this particular battle. Kraid, a boss battle that is relatively early in the game’s grand scheme, can be won by Glaedrax. Metroid DreadYou only need missiles to defeat him, but you can upgrade your Spider Magnet.
But Glaedrax, who is “sequence breaking” Metroid Dread — meaning acquiring items and upgrades out of the standard/easy/intended order — found that bombs work very, very well against Kraid. Below is a list.
This technique is not only fast, it has the added benefit of minimal exposure to Kraid’s gross, festering tummy and all-but eliminates the need to avoid his gross tummy spikes. It’s also a fun little reward for Metroid sequence breakers from developers MercurySteam and Nintendo.
