Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Venom Voice Actor Hints At September Release Date

Editor’s Note: This story’s headline has been changed to better reflect that a voice actor from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 hinted at a September release date, even though developer Insomniac Games has only said the game will be released this fall. 

Since the 2021 reveal of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (the highly anticipated sequel to Insomniac Games Marvel’s Spider-Man), news has not been much. In December 2018, PlayStation announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would come out in this Fall. 

According to the voice actor for Venom in the game, Tony Todd (who we heard briefly in the game’s reveal trailer), Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 could be out this September. Todd was smitten by a fan’s excitement about the game, and he shared the details. 

It looks like September. In august, there is a lot of publicity. Commercials start dropping in august so I’m told. And hold on tight! “It’s going be important”

This seems to be information Todd didn’t intend to share, is it not? However, despite what some might believe, Todd’s tweet remains up as of the writing. This means that Insomniac Games haven’t forced him to take it down. 

When people began to notice that Todd might have divulged the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release date, Todd cheekily tweeted: 

Now, it’s important to note that just because Todd hints the game is coming this September doesn’t mean it actually is. Before Insomniac Games announces the official release date and release month, we should be careful. The September window is consistent with what was previously disclosed for Fall.

The September launch date for this major PlayStation first-party launch will be up against Xbox Starfield’s (September 6) launch, so it could get quite busy this Fall.
