Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC adds 3 racers, new course to Switch this summer

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s next wave of DLC courses is coming to Switch this summer, Nintendo announced Wednesday during its Nintendo Direct livestream. Wave 5 for the Booster course Pass Mario Kart 8 DeluxeThe game will also add a brand-new track called Squeaky Clean Sprint and three drivers: Kamek, Wiggler and Petey Piranha.

Petey Piranha has previously appeared on Mario Kart: Double Dash!!Wiggler’s last appearance behind the wheel was in Mario Kart 7.Kamek, the Magikoopa is available in Mario Kart TourHe was originally planned to be a Mario Kart 64Donkey Kong was the original candidate, but Nintendo has a few more candidates. Nintendo has still a few candidates that can be added to the Mario Kart 8 DeluxeThe future DLC roster will be available.

Squeaky Clean Sprint is a new track that sends you into a bathroom filled with suds. You will be driving miniature cars across slippery tiles, in a bath, on tracks made from towels, etc.

This is the previous course wave for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe dropped in March, bringing a brand-new course, Yoshi’s Island, and a returning racer, Birdo, to the Switch game. By 2023, we’ll see the final and sixth wave of courses.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass costs $24.99 and can be purchased from the Nintendo eShop. This pass is also included with the Nintendo Switch Online+ Expansion Pack, which costs $79.99 per year or $49.99 for individuals.

Nintendo has a new video. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the Switch’s best-selling game of all time, with more than 53 million copies sold as of March 31, 2023.
