Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Booster Course Pass Wave 1 Update Out Now, Launch Trailer Released

Nintendo revealed last month that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would receive 48 new tracks in 2023. The tracks will be released in six waves with eight tracks each.

A little more than a month after the original Wave 1 of Booster Course Pass was released, along with a 2.0.0 update. This update adds new courses to the game and prepares them for online play. It also fixes minor bugs. A new trailer has been released by Nintendo that highlights eight of the new courses in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

These courses include: Paris Promenade (above), Toad Circuit; Choco Mountain; Coconut Mall; Tokyo Blur, Shroom Valley, Sky Garden and Ninja Hideaway. While some of the Wave 1 courses have been in existence since Mario Kart Tour, others are brand new.

What does the 2.0.0 update do to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? here’s what’s new

DLC support

  • Now supports Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass (Wave 1: 8 courses)
  • If someone in the lobby has the “Booster Course Pass,” all players can select one of the pass courses.
    • This supports “Friends,” “Wireless Play,” and “LAN Play.”
  • You can now play online starting on March 21st and you will be able to select a course from the Booster Pass.
    • Supports “Worldwide,” “Regional,” and “Tournaments.”
    • Even if the player does not own the “Booster Course Pass,” they can play courses from the pass randomly.

All

  • Reduce the time taken for an Item Box’s regeneration to be used by another person.

Resolved Issues

  • This issue has been fixed. 12 people were being matched up online and it caused a communication problem.
    • To play online, you will need the most recent update data.
    • If you download the latest update data, you will not be able to do “Wireless Play” or LAN Play” with other players who are using data from a previous update.
  • Update data includes fixes for issues that enhance gameplay experience and additional content not included here.
  • To download updates data you will need to have enough memory on your computer or microSD card.
