Marcel The Shell With Shoes On movie trailer, release date, cast announced

2010 was a year of bravery for one little girl. Marcel was one inches tall. He wore shoes.

You shellheads have good news! Marcel’s journey will soon be shown on the big screen 12 years later. Jenny Slate plays Marcel again in A24. Marcel The Shell with ShoesA new trailer is available for the movie, with a theatrical release scheduled for June 24.

In the feature movie adaptation of Marcel’s story, a documentary filmmaker (director Dean Fleischer-Camp, who collaborated with Slate on the original videos) attempts to help Marcel reconnect with his family. Along the way, Marcel becomes a bit of a media sensation: We see clips in the trailer of Marcel being mentioned on television by Brian Williams and Conan O’Brien, as well as being interviewed by his hero, the “fearless” Lesley Stahl. Rosa Salazar (left) and Isabella Roselini (right) are part of the ensemble for stop-motion animated film.
