Let the Jazz Flow with the Astronomy Update for Genesis Noir

Genesis NoirFeral Cat Den created and Fellow Traveller published ‘The Expanding Universe,’ a exploration of the universe to the beat of chill jazz.

The week before, Astronomy UpdateThe universe expanded to include three levels, so fans can now explore the cosmos or venture into the future.

“Genesis Noir is a passion project for us that allowed us to study about so many interesting concepts in physics, anthropology, and astronomy,” explains Evan Anthony. “Since the game takes place before, during, and after the Big Bang, we found ourselves with an endless number of stories to tell and ideas to explore. To finally release the game we needed to pick and choose which games we would make. We couldn’t let a few favorite ideas go to waste and kept working on Genesis Noir while starting some new projects.”

No Man is the hat-wearing, ever-so-serious protagonist who searches for new secrets in the vast universe. Stonehenge will give us more insight into the cosmos, while futuristic satellites expand the scope of space.

This new level features simple and fun interaction in astronomy that explores archeoastronomy, gravitational lensing, radio waves to ultraviolet spectrum, and other aspects of astronomy. These levels explore the history of Big Bang, human emotions, and No Man. When played together, they tell a short story.

Genesis Noir’s soundtrack, composed and arranged by Skillbard, sets the noir adventure’s background and really gives a sense of mysterious atmosphere. Not only is the soundtrack great, but it’s also won multiple awards – including from IGF and BiG festival.

“The music is the best part of Genesis Noir and we were extremely lucky to continue working with Skillbard,” says Evan Anthony. “They’ve created some very atmospheric audio and even hidden some Easter eggs in the sound waves!”

“Music and sound for games comes with a unique set of intriguing challenges which push us to keep learning and experimenting and finding new ways to tell a story,” explains Skillbard. “In particular, it was a joy working on Genesis NoirFeral Cat Den gave us a lot of inspiration, with its fascinating characters and bold concepts. It also allowed us to be ourselves and let loose with the things that truly excited us. That others felt the same excitement is proof that our efforts were well worth it. We’re amazed at the response!”
