Invincible season 2, new Netflix anime, Gen V finale, and more new TV
It’s not an official theme or anything, but this week’s TV is all about fighting. There’s the two sides of superhero coming-of-age stories on Prime Video alone: the season finale of Gen VSeason premiere of Invincible. Over on Netflix there’s Blue Eye Samurai, a new show about one woman’s quest for revenge in Edo-era Japan, while on Paramount Plus the new Taylor Sheridan-produced show about Bass Reeves (David Oyelowo) is sure to bring on some Wild West violence. Throw in Love Island Games and it seems like no matter which platform you turn to, you’re gonna get some clashes.

The Light we Cannot See The film, based on a bestselling novel by the same name, is a timeless period drama. Marie-Laure’s (Aria Mia Loberti), a French girl who has gone blind, meets Werner Pfennig’s (Louis Hofmann), a German child forced into fighting for Nazi Germany. This book was not linear, but weaved their stories and those leading up to Saint-Malo together.
Blue Eye Samurai
Genre: The Period Drama Anime
Release Date: November 3, all episodes

Cast: Maya Erskine, Masi Oka, Darren Barnet, Brenda Song, and more
Mizu (Maya Erskine) is living in 17th-century Japan, where borders are closed — meaning she can seek out the only four white men in Japan at the time she was born in order to kill them (assuming one of them might be her father). Mizu (Maya Erskine) hides her identity and bright blue eyes as she searches for revenge. Then, Mizu gathers allies to help her in her quest.
Sunset Season 7:
Genre: The reality show for the fancy workplace

Cast: There are some high-end agents that have been involved in drama
The reality shows feature a group of top-notch real estate agents who are responsible for the sale of some of Los Angeles’ most luxurious properties. The real estate agents may be high-stakes, and the show will certainly reflect that. You may also likeDrama is a good word to describe this.

Black Cake
Genre: Murder mystery
Release Date: The first episode of November is comprised of three parts.

Black Cake’s story is sweeping: It’s both far-flung — set across locales in Jamaica, Italy, Scotland, England, and the U.S. — and spans decades. The story is tied together by the death of Eleanor Bennett in Southern California, and the mysterious flash drive she left her estranged kids about her time in the Caribbean. Exactly what’s contained on there… Well, it’s a bit of a mystery.

God U is in for a shitstorm. After plenty of coming-of-age moments for our gang of budding heroes, Vought’s (most recent) conspiracy is coming to light, and the results are gross (as you might expect from the Boys universe).

Expect classic tropes like “move-in day at college” and “uh oh, do I have to marry the queen of Atlantis actually?”

Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 4 Finale
