How to get a ton of legendary engrams in Destiny 2

Farming legendary shards is possible in Destiny 2Now is the right time. A recent hotfix implemented by Bungie effectively replaces all blue drops in the game with Legendary purple engrams instead, giving players a great way to tank up on resources leading up to this month’s release of Lightfall.

Hotfix, which was implemented Jan. 31, is a temporary fix to the blues issue Bungie originally planned to implement but that instead caused some players to lose their progress and eventually forced Bungie to shut down its servers for approximately 24 hours.

The bane of many players’ existence, blue engrams can be rendered useless. Destiny 2You can’t have community members, since they take up precious space in both your inventory and your postmaster. These space could then be used for valuable items such as enhancement prisms, or other loot. You can however dismantle purple engrams for legendary shards. These shards will provide you basic currency for trading in for valuable resources, such as enhancement prisms and ascendant cores.

The temporary fix doesn’t address the overcrowding issue in the postmaster, but following the release of the massive LightfallExpanding on February 28, blue engrams simply results in additional glimmer drops and not additional legendaries. However, if your coffers are looking a bit sparse right now, and you’re planning to jump into the new expansion on day one, the next four weeks are a great chance to prep.
