Birdemic, the infamous horror franchise, gets trilogy box set

A special Blu-ray edition is available for one of the most bizarre and subversive horror films ever made. Wings of Disaster: the Birdemic Trilogy, a new box set from Severin Films, includes all three of writer and director James Nguyen’s Birdemic movies as well as 13 hours of special features.

The Birdemic film, started in 2010 by Birdemic: Fear and Shock This movie is often cited both as one of the most terrible movies and a classic in horror. Self-labeled as a “romantic thriller,” the film is an off-beat mix of satire and earnestness inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, which follows a software salesman and a lingerie model who are vacationing in a small town when it’s suddenly overrun with an onslaught of killer birds.

Nguyen then made another sequel in 2013 with the same stars as the first movie. The director has returned with the third entry of the trilogy. It will be released separately from the box set. Birdemic 3, Sea EagleThe global warming-related reasons that birds are attacking humans and how this could cause the end of all life on Earth, is explored.

The new box set by Severin Films of the complete trilogy will be available on February 28th.
