How to climb Marvel Snap ranks: Learn when to snap, and when to retreat
You’re a Marvel SnapYou are a player who is determined to climb the ranks before the season’s end. What’s the key to cube success?
It’s not following the meta, it’s not buying the season pass (although the two most recently released cards have been ridiculously strong), and it’s not playing each turn perfectly (but that doesn’t hurt!).
It’s knowing when to retreat.

This is the harsh truth. Your goal should be to become a great person. Marvel SnapThe player is promoted to the top. It is not To win every single game. That’s simply not possible. There is an inherent randomness in this game, particularly when you choose the order of your cards. The real objective is to get as many cubes with every win as you can. Each loss results in only one cube. That is the only way to climb. That’s just math, folks!
You may not win the exact cards that you want. That is really a shame and, dear reader, I understand your pain. You can overcome this problem by identifying the cards and identifying the instances. Accept that you will lose some times. This means that you must pay Be aware of when your enemy snaps.
How often should you capture in Marvel Snap
If your opponent snaps, it probably means they have the cards they think they need to win — do you? Because if you don’t, that’s your cue to retreat. You can and should absolutely stick around to see if you get the cards you need if there’s only one cube at stake — but as soon as your opponent doubles the wager, the time for “maybe I’ll get this card!” is over (unless you’re just really good at the game, and then you probably aren’t reading this anyway).
The simplicity of climbing with the Zabu deck in this season’s season inspired me to think about it. Zabu, which is the season pass card at the moment, can be used to reduce the costs of four of your four-costs. This means you can now play seven of your four-cost four-cost card between the turns four through six if you draw Zabu.
The snapping of a Zabu deck for snapping is very simple due to how powerful the card is. If I draw Zabu by turn three, I’m snapping. If I don’t, I’m assessing where the advantage lies — and if the opponent snaps, I’m absolutely leaving.

Non-season passes are an example of key cards in a Patriot deck. These include Mystique, Patriot and Ultron. If I draw all three of those in my opening hand, I’m snapping instantly (or if I get all three by turn three). Hell, if I get Two of them, I’m probably snapping. If I don’t get them, I leave when my opponent snaps (unless there is a very compelling reason on the board to stay).
Silver Surfer is often the deck’s key card. It includes Sera and Brood. In discard decks, it’s often Hela. In Devil Dino decks, it’s usually Devil Dino and Moon Girl. This is how you get the picture!
Consider your deck and the cards you will need. Snap when you have them. When you don’t, and your opponent snaps, get the hell out of there.
That’s what I’m here to preach: Embrace the one-cube loss. It never feels great, but if you’re consistently winning two, four, or eight cubes and only losing one, you are going to climb the ladder in no time.
