House of the Dragon trailer: HBO’s Game of Thrones spinoff is coming

George R.R. Martin and based on the author’s book Fire & Blood House of the DragonThe prequel to Game of Thrones, this show is 200 years ahead of the original series. The new series chronicles the history of House Targaryen, and is rumored to depict the event known as the “Dance of the Dragons,” the Targaryen civil war. ThronesMiguel Sapochnik (a veteran) will take the lead in the pilot and subsequent episodes. Ryan Condal is also involved as showrunner.Colony

House of the DragonProduction began last May with an impressive cast. Appearing in season 1 are Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower. HBO’s description for Rhaenyra was telling: “The king’s first-born child, she is of pure Valyrian blood, and she is a dragonrider. Many would say that Rhaenyra was born with everything … but she was not born a man.”

House of the DragonHBO is hoping this is the beginning of a huge expansion of Game of Thrones. Although five spinoff shows were initially considered as filling the gap created by the flagship, they are not the best. House of the DragonThey moved ahead.
