House of the Dragon to run 4 seasons according to George R.R. Martin
People lamenting an imminent end to House of the Dragon’s first season on HBO can rest easy: Game of Thrones (c)George R. R. Martin has confirmed that the prequel series would consist of four seasons with each season featuring ten episodes.
This was confirmed by the author in a blog post that he wrote. It also contains musings about pro football. (He’s a New York Giants fan In case you weren’t aware, he is a New York Jets fan. He spoke about the joy of having 10 complete episodes to help tell his story. “It is going to take four full seasons of 10 episodes each to do justice to the Dance of the Dragons, from start to finish,” George R. R. Martin said.
George R. R. Martin is a fanboy who mainly just has a few words to say about the show and praises many of its creators. He said he thought that Ryan Condal handled various time jumps in the series “very very well,” even if some characters could have been fleshed out more.
“I mean, I cannot really review the show, that would be crazy, I am hardly objective… but I do want to commend Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik and the cast and crew for the work they’ve done. Sunday’s episode, ‘[The] Lord of the Tides,’ was everything I hoped it should be.”
