Horizon Zero Dawn Remake And Horizon Multiplayer Game Reportedly In Development

According to reports, a remake of Horizon Zero Dawn 2017 is in development along with a new Horizon multiplayer video game. 

It is a good news story. MP1stThe publication reports that sources told it that this remake would feature a new lighting system, improved animations and more character models in keeping with Zero Dawn’s Horizon Forbidden West sequel, released in February. However, MP1STIt is possible that this project will end up being a remaster, as its sources don’t specify whether it was “built from scratch”. 

According to MP1st, One of the major focuses of the remake (ha), is to bring Forbidden West’s accessibility functions over from Zero Dawn. This was something Sony did with Part II and Part I. The publication claims that its sources have confirmed that there will not be any gameplay changes. The publication also states that it is not clear if the remake will follow The Last of Us Part I’s lead or be smaller. We will find out in the future. 

There is talk of Zero Dawn being remade. MP1stIt claims it is aware of other sources that claim that Guerrilla Games has developed an online multiplayer gaming experience set in Horizon, for PlayStation 5 (PC) and PlayStation 5. MP1stThere were two sources who could verify the project. Another source, however, suggested that it may include “a type of co-op”. But, it notes that the publication hasn’t been able confirm that the online functionality of the game would allow for co-op and/or PvP. 

Take all this information with a grain, but it appears that Sony will place even greater bets on Horizon’s success. I would not be surprised to see the potential Zero Dawn remake released at the same time, given the timing of The Last of Us Part I and the fact that it was so close to The Last of Us TV series on HBO.
