Horizon Franchise Surpasses 32 Million Units Sold As Forbidden West Nears 9 Million
PlayStation and developer Guerrilla have revealed that the Horizon franchise has surpassed 32 million units sold.
Horizon Call of the Mountain is the latest exclusive PSVR2 title in the series. It includes Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, Burning Shores, Horizon Forbidden West, released this year and the Frozen Wilds, released next year. PlayStation revealed that the Horizon series has sold more than 32.7 millions units worldwide in a blog post about Guerrilla.
Horizon Forbidden West, too, has been sold in excess of 8.4 millions units.
Jan-Bart van Beek is the director of Guerrilla Studio and the art and animated director. He writes about this in a blog. The blog post says: “It’s been a journey we couldn’t have dreamed of twenty years before when we began making games.
The community has shown a tremendous amount of love and support to this franchise.
van Beek ends the blog by joking that “the studio cannot wait” for readers to discover where they are. [Aloy]”Next, we will move on.”
