High On Life’s Narrative Takes A Turn With Spooky High On Knife DLC

Hello again! High on LifeIt has been a very rewarding experience, both for myself and the entire team at Squanch Games. It’s been a passion project for all of us, and we couldn’t be happier with how many of you have helped save Earth from the alien cartel. We’re not quite ready to leave the universe that we’ve built together, which is why I’m so excited to share more information about our first DLC, High on Knife. It’s set two years after High on LifeKnifey’s package is delivered and all seems well until Knifey receives it. Don’t ask how or why Knifey is getting mail. It’s mysterious for a reason.

Perhaps you’ve noticed that the mood has changed. High on Knife is still freaking hilarious and weird, but we’re also getting a You can also find out more about the little ones. The atmosphere is eerie this time. Not like, “I may never sleep again,” levels of terror, but definitely on the “My dreams are going to be broken for a while,” end of things. You can think of it as body horror where you begin with a horrifying body, and then the body gets more horrific. even more horrible. You’ll have to trust us on that for now.  

Today we want to reveal some new information on our latest talking guns. I’ll let Alec Robbins, High on Life‘s narrative director take it from here.

“You can see little peeks at two of our new guns here: one of them is Harper, voiced by the incredibly funny Sarah Sherman (SNL, Sarah SquirmThe other one is B.A.L.L., an odd little pinball machine operated by a bunch of small gibberish speaking freaks. The reason I voiced those characters was because I had won a fan contest. 

“This teaser shows off the “scary” part of our comedy game. It’s important that every comedy game has a scary part to offset all the comedy. Ideally, we’d get one scream for every 3 laughs just to even out the overall emotional experience but we’re still fine-tuning things to see if we can hit that mark.”

The launch of High on LifeThe support that we received has been overwhelming. We were blown away by the enthusiasm of our players. This shows that our game is resonating with people and there’s still room for it. High on LifeOut there. 

At Squanch Games, we’re excited for everyone to get their hands on the new content in High on Knife and look forward to bringing great, off-beat games to all our fans in the years to come. High On Knife will be coming to PC and Xbox consoles this fall, and we’re excited to share more in the months ahead.
