Hearthstone revisits Warcraft’s best baddy and adds a new hero class
Arthas Menethil’s story and the journey he took to be the Lich King is a familiar tale in Warcraft mythos. But the next chapter will tell the whole story. HearthstoneExpanding is even more. March of Lich King is an upcoming expansion that includes 145 brand new cards, a new minion type, a new keyword, and a new class — the Death Knight. The expansion will be available for purchase starting Dec. 6.
March of Lich King’s story centers around the Blood Elves — who were decimated by the Scourge during Arthas’ rise — fighting back against the Scourge. There’s even a neutral Legendary spell, the Sunwell, to help fight off the undead advance. Manathirst will also be on some cards. Additional powers are available for Manathirst cards when they have sufficient mana crystals, but without having to consume the mana. This can make Blood Elf decks extremely potent if you plan well.
Fighting back the undead armies and new class won’t be easy for our elves; Death Knights have an all-new Rune system to empower their decks with Blood, Frost, and Unholy abilities. Death Knights are able to work together with new undead minion types, including a number of newly introduced creatures and tons old ones from previous expansions. Reborn mechanic was first introduced in 2019. The Saviors of UldumThe word “evergreen” is becoming more popular and it will be seen in many other places. March of Lich King.
Hearthstone’s first new class was the Demon Hunter in 2020’s Ablazes of Outland expansion. Players will have the opportunity to play through a campaign and unlock the Death Knight as well as a starter deck, much like the Demon Hunter. The mood is set by the fact that cards will be made from the Death Knight and a starting deck on November 1. Knights of the Frozen ThroneAll players are temporarily allowed to expand and they can be added back into the Standard rotation.
