Guidance of Ages Past, Spirit Temple walkthrough in Tears of the Kingdom

The following are some of the ways to get in touch with us Tears of the Kingdom – The Legend of Zelda, you’ll need to find many Sages, including a somewhat-secret one, MineruHer quest ” Her quest “Guide to Ages Past” leads you to her.

After soothing the lightning storm in the prior part of the “Find the Fifth Sage” quest, you’ll find a mask locked up behind a door. Interacting with the mask starts the “Guidance of Ages Past” quest, leading you to the fifth Sage, Mineru.

As you complete the quest, you’ll head down to the Depths and fight a boss in the Spirit Temple.

Below, we walk through the steps of “Guidance of Ages Past,” a lengthy quest that sends you to the Depths to help rebuild a construct.

As soon as you grab the mask, you will see a beam of lasers pointing down to the island. The mask can be taken outside by using the newly opened door.

By this time, you’ll likely know what to do: build on a wing, adding fans and a steering stick. Attach the mask to the device. Here’s what ours looked like:

As you launch off of the island, fly towards the point where the laser is pointing. Detach the face mask from your wing and place it on the pedestal where the laser is pointing. You will see a cutscene. Again, pick up the Mask and bring it back to the pedestal. Next pedestal. You will be taken to Depths by the elevator.

Use Ultrahand to place the mask in the slot of the robot mould straight forward.

The fun begins:Selecting all the pieces of the GolemMineru. There are four factories, as she pointed out, though it’s dark. It is recommended that you ascend the ruins behind the golem, and fire lightblooms to illuminate the area.

In fact, if you head up through this Ascend point, you’ll get a mighty Zonaite shield and a Captain IV reaper from two chests:

We recommend that you grab the pieces below in order, but it’s not necessary. You can choose any order.

Right-Leg Depot

The lightroot is located to the north. Uisihcoj Lightroot will instantly increase visibility. Head northeast and part the Aerocudas, Bokoblins, Little Frox so that you can leap off of the broken bridges.

Use the inside altar to place the leg on the box. Ultrahand the item on one of the elevators to the right, and use the fans to raise it.

Once you’re at the top and you see the long rail, set up the box using Ultrahand like this, using the hooked box pieces and one of the fans from the elevator:

Link uses Ultrahand to attach a fan to the back of a box on a hook in Tears of the Kingdom

As you switch on the fans, the legs will start to move up. From the other side of the room, climb up the ledge. Move the leg box again up the fan lifts. Climb the ledge in order to obtain three Zonaite.

The materials to create an aircraft will be at the very top of the ledge. Attach the steering stick to a wing, stick the leg box on, and set the plane on the downward rails to drive it back to Mineru’s golem mold.

We stuck fans on like this to make it go faster, but you don’t have to:

Hopefully, you’re able to land the wing close to Mineru, so rip the leg box off, and deliver her the leg, placing it into the mold.

Right Arm Depot

Then, from the ruins’ top, aim westwards, towards this entrance. We used Tulin’s wind to help us get there:

Use the inner altar to place the right hand inside a box. Send the box on the conveyor belt to the right of your altar, and then follow it.

Attach the wheels to the box on only one side. Put the box onto the electric bridge with the wheels positioned on one corner.

Link carefully places a box on an electric bridge, making sure that the two wheels on the box line up with a ledge in Tears of the Kingdom

Then, turn on the motor and it will go to the other end. You can glide across it and go up the ladder.

Attach two additional wheels to the cart outside so it can roll down the steps covered in gloom and toward Mineru. Standing on the top, hit the wheel to turn on and travel across.

You may need to stop at a location with little darkness on the floor to get rid of the bad guys. There’s not much gloom on the bridge over the water, so you can safely stop there temporarily to knock them out.

When you return to Mineru, place the arm in the mold of the golem.

Left-Leg Depot

To the east, you will find an entry to another depot. Use the altar to collect the leg on the left. Put it on the elevator rockets, and then turn the lifts on.

You will need to spin the crank (it’s actually called a capstan) on the left to aim the bridge on the right to shoot the box over the water and onto the ledge above.

Attach the rockets to the box using the steering stick nearby.

Use the dial to raise the bridge. This is how we successfully made it up to the ledge.

If you keep messing up and need more rockets, there’s a device dispenser directly behind the bridge in this room.

Once your box is up on the ledge, don’t leave the area quite yet. Look east and you will see lasers that are blocking an area with Zonaite, as well as a chest on the other side of exit. The loot can be brought down by using Ultrahand. Take the elevator near the lasers and then use it to go up. You’ll get a handful of Zonaite and a Large Zonaite for your troubles.

You can now remove the box. This time you don’t need to add any attachments or do anything fancy, as the exit is actually pretty close to where Mineru is. You can place the piece into her mold by bringing it with Ultrahand to her.

Left Arm Depot

This depot is walkable on foot, but if you want to glide from the top, you can totally do that, just aim for the southwest door you’ll see lit up in the distance.

The Evermeans, Bokoblins and other enemies were defeated on our way.

Once you’re inside, interact with the altar to get a box with the left arm inside. The wheel on the door will raise it and allow you to take the box. Three wheels will be on the door, two of which are on the side where the lava is. Attach the steering stick and the two wheels from the side with the lava to the door.

The box must be driven straight through the lava. Ascend on a ledge when you reach the next section to find five steering-stick capsules. Take the wheels off the boxes and place them in the corners.

Link Ultrahands a new lava-crossing car, where this time the box is flipped horizontally with the big tires on each side and a steering stick on top in Tears of the Kingdom

Cross the next lava path. Get a grand poke by climbing up the ladder. Head back down. Take one of your wheels and fix it to the front door, just like you did in the previous room. If you need a reminder of what that looked like, it’s like this:

Link takes out a construct weapon and gets ready to whack a wheel on a door in Tears of the Kingdom. The wheel is attached to the left side of a rising door, with the arrows pointing left and the small block is connected to the treads of the wheel.

Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

You will need to attach the square stone to the wheel and stick it to the bottom of the door. When you switch it on the door will rise. Take your box and secure at least one fan on the back.

Grab this chest before you go to the exit and get 3 Zonaite.

Your raft will be sent down to Mineru with the help of the fans that are attached to the box. Hooray!

Mineru’s construct and getting to the Spirit Temple

Once all the pieces are assembled, Mineru’s construct will join you. To make it more powerful, you can equip it with devices and weapons. Equip whatever you’d like from her offered arsenal and head towards the quest marker to head to the Spirit Temple.

The journey to the Spirit Temple is short and there isn’t too much to it. On the way, you’ll fight a few smallfry monsters and you can use this as an opportunity to figure out how Mineru’s construct works. Link climbs on it, swinging its arms and attacking with the weapon you have attached.

Sijotu Lightroot should be visited., which is on the way (depending on which way you went — the Depths are confusing), at coordinates (1218, -2544, -0612). There’s a Hinox between the lightroot and the temple, but you can take it out by shooting its eye and attacking it or you can just run from it if you don’t care for Hinox drops.

Straight past the Hinox is another weaponry for Mineru’s construct. At least equip her with one cannon. It will help you take out the boss quickly.

There are a few rocks that you can smash, between the weapons of the temple and your weaponry. You can use Mineru’s cannon or spiked ball (if you equipped that), Yunobo’s Sage ability, or you can just go at it using a regular hammer that you Fused. You should use this time to get accustomed to using Mineru’s cannon attachment, too.

Once you make it through the rubble, you’ll see another lit up armory ahead, this time filled with rockets. Attach one to the construct’s back and launch yourself up to the Spirit Temple.

Fighting strategy for the Seized Construction boss

Once you get into the temple, get on Mineru’s construct and interact with the bird-like statue in the center of the room. Seized Construct will interrupt you as soon as you approach the stone.

Before you begin this battle, be aware that Link will not fight alone. He’ll take damage regularly, but he won’t be using any of his weapons, so don’t worry about preparing any before you go. The only thing you should make sure to have is a Zonai cannon attached to Mineru’s constructAs we have already mentioned, it is important to be prepared for the fight. Once you’re ready for the fight, head forward.

Seized Construct, a Zonai robot with red and black energy flowing out of it, as seen in Tears of the Kingdom

Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

Barbed wires will appear and you’ll notice that the floor is covered in gloom, creating the world’s worst wrestling ring. You’ll need to use your mech to fight this scary mech — and your cannon arm makes this pretty quick work.

Seized Constructs will only take minor damage if they are hit with weapons, but still take some. You can also find out more about the following:Damage caused by being hit into the barbed-wire fence around the arena.

Simple: It will explode if you hit it several times with the other arm. If you ignored our multiple recommendations about coming into this fight with the cannon, you will need to just rush it and hit it with Mineru’s arms until it bounces into the wires. This is fine, though it just makes you more susceptible to taking damage from the Seized Construct, since you’ll be within its melee range.

There are multiple spiked iron balls in the corners of the arena that you can attach to Mineru’s arms if you need them, as well.

The second phase will start when the Seized Construction reaches half-health. You should still have access to your cannon. If it attacks you in the air, simply blast it.

After the Seized Construct goes down, you’ll be able to grab a Heart Container. The temple can be completed by approaching the stone.

Mineru will talk to you about the Master Sword, and if you don’t already have it, she’ll want you to go get it.

Purah is in Lookout Landing. Talking to her will complete the “Find the Fifth Sage” quest and the “Crisis in Hyrule,” while starting “Destroy Ganondorf.”
