Great Sky Island walkthrough in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
You’ll begin your journey through Tears of the Kingdom – The Legend of ZeldaThe newest way to get the best of your day Great Sky Island. Akin to Great Plateau Breath Of The Wild, the Great Sky Island is effectively a tutorial zone that grants you the game’s four key abilities and teaches you how to use them.
Great Sky Island has been defined by four shrinesThe bespoke puzzles are short dungeons. You can use our walkthrough to guide you through Tears Of The Kingdom’s Great Sky Island area, outline the order to tackle the Great Sky Island’s shrines — including how to get to the Third and Fourth Shrine — and get you on your way to Hyrule.
Great Sky Island tour
You will be able to play the game after a number of cutscenes. LinkThe room will be filled with roots when. There’s only one direction you can go. After following Rauru through a series of linear tunnels, hang right after you’ve taken a pretty deep plunge into a small pool of water and you’ll be outside. You’ll need to make another jump into a large, oval-shaped pool full of lily pads. Again, you’ll speak to Rauru, who will point you in the direction of the Temple of Time.
It is hard to miss. Speak to the person at the top of the structure as you head north. Steward ConstructsYou can find helpful tutorials and hints along the way.
Then dive down to reach the islands. Keep in mind that making the leap will lock you into this archipelago, so you’ll want to thoroughly explore and scour for resources before moving on, and maybe grab some apples from the nearby tree for cooking. Once you’re at the island, keep going north and you’ll make it to the steps of the Temple of Time.

The first Shrine
Unfortunately, you can’t enter the Temple just yet. You’ll need to unlock the three blessings on the island in order to open the door. Rauru can point out the general directions, but Tears of the Kingdom has a particular order that you should follow. Head westward on your map from the Temple of Time. You will find your first shrine by following the steps and the path.
It is important to note that the word “you” means “associate”. Ukouh ShrineYou can connect objects together with the Ultrahand. This ability will help you to overcome otherwise insurmountable obstacles and obtain valuables. Our Ukouh Shrine page has solutions to the puzzles.
Once you’ve left the Ukouh Shrine, continue westward. You can now move on to the next part of the island by using your newly acquired ability. If you want to do it creatively, attach a hook on the plank of a board and ride this platform along a rail. If you feel like you haven’t attached anything properly, use the right stick to break the construction apart and reconnect it in a way that fits.

You’ll come across a prefabricated raft. Take the raft. Axes made of stoneFrom the stump of a tree. You’re going to need this to make some logs. Cut down two logsFusion them into a temporary bridge. The logs should be placed in crevices on the bridge. You can safely pass over the broken bridge by placing logs in their crevices.

The second Shrine is located in the same place as the first.
Take the road south to the lake. There are several methods that’ll get you there, but however you go, make sure to pick some stamina bulbsYou’re on your way. You’ll need them for later. Then, kill the Zonai Soldier ConstructsKeep heading to the south until you see some LogsThe following are some examples of how to get started: Two SailsNext to each other Axes made of stone.
Trim a branch and join three logs. Drag your raft along the shoreline of the lake and attach a sail. Then, get ready to board and start the trip. Once you’ve reached the shore, head to up the steps to the next shrine.

The third Shrine: How to reach it
Once you’ve finished the In-isa Shrine, head east. You’ll encounter a lot of Zonai Soldier ConstructsYou can easily eliminate them with Fused weapons. These guys are a great way to gather more materials. They will make decently strong weapons for Great Sky Island. Heading south, you’ll find the Pondside Cave. Enter the code and you will be able to grab it. Brightbloom bulbsBreak the stones inside and you will obtain Amber, FlintOther valuable materials. To get revenge, break the wall in the rear. More information about the product materials. After you’re done scouring, head left to go deeper into the cave.

Outside you’ll see several Maker ConstructsStanding in a circle of logs with fans. Speak to the Maker Constructs to get a breakdown of how to use the Zonai Devices — namely, the fans — scattered around the shore. Ultrahand can be used to combine two fans and logs to create a boat. Move it into the water; once you’re ready to depart, hit the fan with a weapon. The device will be activated, and you’ll fly across the water.
There is a cooking station here if you want to make use of it, though you’ll find plenty of others on the island. Once you’re ready to continue, follow the stairs up. Enter the mine. It’ll be very dark inside. Brightbloom seeds — either smacking them or attaching them to you weapon — can help. Ultrahand is another option to illuminate your way. It scans an area and overlays it, providing you with a light source that can be used to navigate dark areas.
You’ll meet a few Maker Constructs in the final area of the mining cave, whom you should interact with; you’ll meet a merchant you can obtain crystalized charges and Zonai charges from, and will also get you a Zonai Capsule containing a fan. Select the Zonai Capsule in your inventory. You can drop an item by backing out of your Inventory. Attach the item to the rear of the minecartGive it a good shake to get it going. You will then be able to move on and up the area.

Then, head back to the cave. Spicy peppersThe Maker Construct is located next to it. You’ll see a bowl for cooking; cook any ingredient — mushrooms, meat, anything, really — with the spicy peppers to create a dish that will stave off the cold. Continue deeper into the cave.

Keep climbing up, grabbing Spicy peppersOn the way to your destination, you will find a cooler climate. Eat the food you’ve prepared and get ready to book it to the next shrine. You’ll need to head north, until you reach an obstacle, and then take a left to descend to the cave mouth.
Grab the bombs, because you’ll need them. You’ll need to keep going until you find a Like Like. Fuse your bombs with some arrows, as you’ve probably picked up a bow from Zonai Soldier ConstructsFire at the weakest part of its body once it has opened its lips. Once it’s on the ground, attack it with a melee weapon. You’ll only need to do this two or three times before it’s dead. (You can avoid fighting them altogether by just running as well if you don’t want to spend the resources.)
Once you’ve gotten out of the bottomless pit you’ll see a very long root. This root will take you to the Gutanbac Shrine.

After completing the shrine, you’ll need to make your way back to the Temple of Time. If you still have cold-resistant food, eat it and then continue to the northeast. You’ll come to an area with some stone gliders in the shape of birds. You can use your Ultrahand to place one into a crevice and then climb on. The glider will help you reach the Temple of Time. Just jump off when the time is right to plunge into the water around it.

In the temple, you’ll get the RecallThis allows you to temporarily freeze objects and reverse time flow. This is essential to your progress. You can use Recall to get to the platform by climbing either to the left or right of the inner chamber. Then, use Recall once more to enter the main room by riding the final wheel. Approach the double doors and hold the A button to learn that you’ll need to locate the final fourth shrine, which Rauru says is hidden somewhere on the island.
The fourth Shrine is located in the city of San Francisco.
Head back to the Room of Awakening — where you started your journey.

Look immediately to your left and you’ll see water wheelsUse Ascend to get up onto the platform for the wheels themselves, and then use Recall to go over them into a long passage that will take you to your final hidden shrine on Great Sky Island. Recall will allow you to go over the wheels and onto the platform. This passage leads to the last, secret shrine of the Great Sky Island.

Use the Recall ability to return to the original room. Goddess StatueExchange your Lights of Blessing with a Heart Container. You will gain the health needed to unlock the Temple of Time’s final chamber. As you walk out, a sequence of cutscenes plays. And that’s the Great Sky Island! You can return to the island at any time to see what you missed if you decide to leave after this.
