GoldenEye 007 Coming To Xbox With Dual-Analog Stick Support
GoldenEye 007, one of the greatest and most beloved shooters ever made, is a very special game that many people who played it back in the late ’90s. It’s been quite a while since this game was available on modern consoles. That changes soon, as the revolutionary first-person shooter received a duo of announcements today. The first was the announcement of a Switch edition as part of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack n64. However, we also learned the title (which was developed by now-Microsoft-owned Rare), is also coming to Xbox as a part of Game Pass and Rare Replay.
The classic campaign will arrive on Xbox with all the cheat codes and difficulty settings. There is no word on whether “DK Mode”, which was renamed for Xbox to “Big Head Mode”, will now be available on Xbox. Xbox will include split-screen competitive multiplayer, which was a staple for N64-era get-togethers.
It does not seem that the online multiplayer in the Nintendo Switch Online version of GoldenEye 007 will be available for the Xbox version. The Xbox version of GoldenEye 007 has improved controls, including dual analog stick support, native 16:9 resolution, 4K Ultra HD and a constant refresh rate. It also supports full achievements.
Game Pass includes GoldenEye 007 for Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One. Rare Replay owners will be able download the game for free. While we are not sure when GoldenEye 007 is coming to Xbox, Rare claims that it will simultaneously be on Xbox Series X/S (Xbox One), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch Online.
