God of War Ragnarok Artifact locations: Where to find Kvasir’s Poems
God of War(2018) provided a lot of Artifacts that you could find. God of War RagnarökThey are back.
These Artifacts are one of the many collectibles and side activities for you to discover in each of the game’s nine realms, and they come in a set. Find out more information about the Dwarves at the Things Left Behind Artifacts shop in Svartalfheim. You can also find all Tributes To Freyr in Alfheim, which will tell you why Freyr was so beloved by the Elfs. You can even find all of Kvasir’s Poems, which are silly references to Sony’s other first-party brands like Ratchet & Clank and Horizon.
In this guide, we’ll go realm-by-realm to help you find all of the Artifacts in God of War Ragnarök.
NotificationThis guide will tell you everything you need to know about Artifacts. As you might expect, you’ll be back to both of these locations later in the game and be able to access previously inaccessible areas with new equipment. If you reach the end of one of the sections in this guide and still notice you’re missing an Artifact or two, it means you simply can’t get it yet. We’ll update this guide to include information about the rest of the game’s Artifacts by the time you reach them.
Svartalfheim
Svartalfheim, the first significant explorable area of Norway, is located in God of War RagnarökIt has two types of artifacts. The first is Kvasir’s Poems, clever references to the many Sony-exclusive IPs. You’ll be looking for these throughout all the realms. You’ll also find the Things Left Behind Artifact Set, which is a collection of dwarven treasures.
Aurvangar Wetlands: Things Left Behind

Get into the Mystic Gateway at the Aurvangar Youtlands and jump into your boat. The first opportunity you have to exit is on your right, at the end of the small island just before the waterwheel.

Get out of the boat and use your ax for freezing the geyser. You can jump across. Now, turn around and stop the geyser near the one that you have just jumped over. You will see a grapple point. Use the Blades of Chaos to grab your grapple point and move forward. You’ll see a purple glow next to a dead dwarf. Grab it and take your first Artifact.
Aurvangar Wetlands – Kvasir Poem

The first of Kvasir’s many poems is also in the Aurvangar Wetlands. Follow the river up until you arrive at the gate that leads to Nidavellir. Continue following the trail. You can bypass the first chain by jumping over to the opposite side of the dock.

Here, use the giant metal block as an elevator to reach the dock’s second floor. You’ll find the chain you need to open the second half of the gate to your right. But before you jump down and continue into the city, look for a table on the platform, which houses Kvasir’s Poem.
Nidavellir – Kvasir’s Poem

The next of Kvasir’s Poems is just inside Nidavellir. Progress forward until Sindri upgrades Atreus’ bow with the Sonic arrows, then backtrack to where you first got out of the boat and entered the city.

Turn left and walk forward along the dock. Eventually you’ll come across a barricade blocking a part of the dock with a chest on it. You can use the Sonic Arrows to dismantle the barricade, and then walk forward. On some crates near the water you’ll find another of Kvasir’s Poems.
Nidavellir: Things Left Behind

To reach Nidavellir’s other side, upgrade your arrows using Sindri. Keep going to the left until the bridge is reached. Take a left turn and jump into the alleyway below.

Here, you’ll need to destroy a bunch of enemies who will try to swarm you. Once they’re dead, look directly under the bridge for a purple glow. Take the second Things Left Behind Artifact and walk to it.
Lyngbakr island – Kvasir Poem

After raising Lyngbakr Island in The Weight of Chains quest complete the task, you can climb the chain to the right fin. Turn left at the end of the chain and climb the wall.

Continue to the Lyngbakr top, turning left. Jump across wooden structures and rocks, until you reach the platform with a chest. There’s also a dead dwarf nearby. Walk over and grab Kvasir’s Poem.
Things Left Behind at the Forge

The train will take you up Nidavellir Station to The Forge. Once you have reached the top, step onto the deck to continue your journey. Eventually you’ll find your way blocked by a derailed train, so take the right path instead and climb up the wall in front of you.

Take a left turn and continue walking towards the railing where the derailment train is. Take a look at the little pit in the bottom and pick up your axe to open it. Find one of the Things left behind by digging through the rubble.
Jarnsmida Pitmines- Things Left Behind

Clear out all enemies who attack you after you have crashed in the Jarnsmida pitmines. Once they’re all dead, stay in the combat arena rather than moving further toward the main objective.

To the right of the big waterwheel, you’ll find a chain leading down to a lower area. Walk up the bank and take the chain. Here you’ll find another of the Things Left Behind.
Jarnsmida Pitmines – Kvasir’s Poem

You will continue through the Jarnsmida Pitmines to Sindri. Sindri will then give you a lantern and replace your Bifrost. You must follow the correct path before you can enter The Applecore mine.
A crane will then lift a block from the area where you stood just before Sindri met you. Backtrack to the block and climb up the side — if you’re unable to climb, it means you’re on the wrong side of the block.

To freeze the water from which you moved the block’s top, take your ax and place it on the block. You will be able to return the block back to its original location and move to another area. For now, you can hop off the tramway and continue walking to your left. Near the giant cog you’ll find another of Kvasir’s Poems
Applecore: Things Left Behind

Continue through The Applecore to reach a split-path. You will find the right path covered with gold ore. The left path contains two water wheels as well as an elevator. You will find yourself in a small pit if you take the right path. To blow the pot up, look back at the ore of gold.

Instead, climb back up and follow the correct path. When you crawl through the tunnel you’ll face an army of enemies, so take them out. Once they’re dead, go through the double doors ahead of you. There isn’t much to do here just yet, so look left and grab the Things Left Behind sitting against the wall.
The Applecore 2 – Things Left Behind

Proceed through The Applecore until you reach one of the area’s final puzzles, when you and Atreus have to split up. There will be two doors on either side of you when you reassemble. One is a huge door, the other one is a small section that can be used to sit on the left.
To take a shortcut, sit along the wall.

Follow the path through the grate to your right. Look left, and ignore the double doors on your right. On a barrel you’ll find the last of the Things Left Behind Artifacts. It’s yours.
Alfheim
Alfheim is the second major location you’ll visit in God of War Ragnarök. From two separate sets, there are 11 Artifacts available for you. As usual, you’ll find a few of Kvasir’s Poems lying about in Alfheim. The location-unique Artifacts this time around are called Tributes to Freyr, Freya’s brother. You’ll be able to find seven Artifacts on your first journey to Alfheim.
The Strond – Kvasir’s Poem

Once you’ve entered Alfheim by the mysterious gateway in The Strond you can continue on the path toward the Temple of Light. You will reach the first purple-colored crystal puzzle. Here you’ll learn how to swing the Leviathan Axe over walls. Continue through the gate, but instead of following the correct path, jump on the cliff edge in front.

When you land, look left and you’ll see a tunnel. Walk inside and you’ll bump into one of Kvasir’s Poems. Pocket it.
Freyr’s Tribute: The Strond

Progress through The Strond until you can see the gate for the Temple of Light, but don’t cross the bridge to grab it.

Instead, look for the nearby Nornir Chest, as it’s pretty big and tough to miss. Near the chest you’ll find one of the Tributes to Freyr. Grab it.
The Temple of Light – Kvasir’s Poem 1

Follow the pathway past the Light of Alfheim to the Temple of Light and climb the spiral staircases. In order to bypass one of the light gates, you’ll need to turn the corner to your right, climb the wall, and rotate the lantern full of purple crystals.

On the balcony where you can move the lantern, you’ll find another of Kvasir’s Poems. Grab it.
Kvasir’s poem 2: The Temple of Light

Continue through the Temple of Light until you reach a puzzle where you’ll need to use a spinning cog in the floor to move a purple crystal lantern. Complete the puzzle to walk through the just-destroyed light gate.

Turn left and walk forward into the smaller rooms. You’ll find one of Kvasir’s Poems on the table.
Kvasir’s poem – The Barrens

Ride your sled to The Barrens and ride it over the huge skeleton at the top-right corner.

Proceed through the beast’s body, through the enemies, and along the spine. Once you have reached the end of this creature’s body, climb up and find the Legendary chest. Next to the chest is another of Kvasir’s Poems.
Freyr’s 1 Tributes in The Barrens

Head to the little broken temple in the top-left part of The Barrens, just under the “the.”

Get off the sled, and then jump over the fence to the temple. Take a right and go through the staircase. You’ll see one of the Tributes to Freyr Artifacts lying on the ground. Nab it.

Head back to the entrance of The Barrens and position yourself like you’re riding into the desert wasteland for the first time. You should immediately turn right once you emerge from the tunnel. Keep an eye out on the cliffs below. You can now slide down your sled when you spot an opening.

Squeeze through the gap in the wall and you’ll find another of the Tributes to Freyr lying on the ground next to some dark elf corruption and a Legendary Chest.
