Giant Squid debuts post-apocalyptic skater game at PlayStation Showcase

The newest title from indie studio Giant Squid is a bit like the developer’s previous title, the meditative Enjoy your journey“, crossed with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater — a combination that makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

Trailer for the forthcoming film Sword of the Sea premiered during Wednesday’s Playstation Showcase, revealing a masked protagonist using a sword-like board called the Hoversword to surf desert dunes and ocean waves alike. In a blog entry on the PlayStation website, it is described as combining skateboards, snowboards, and hoverboards.

Sword of the SeaIt takes place in a world that is abandoned, where the waves are everywhere. Wraith is the main character, who will guide players through this desolate world full of ancient tombs and mysterious ruins.
