Genshin Impact developers release Shikanoin Heizou’s design

Hoyoverse revealed Monday’s new drip marketing strategy Genshin Impact’sThe latest character Shikanoin Heizou. While new characters regularly come to the free-to-play game, this highly anticipated character’s design surprised fans, and now they can’t stop talking about him.

Shikanoin Heizou, also known as Doushin Shikanoin is an Anemo character that works as a detective in Inazuma’s Tenryou Commission. The announcement describes Heizou as “free-spirited and unruly, but cheerful and lively.” The release comes with an endorsement from the head of the Kamisato clan himself, Kamisato Ayato, who said, “While [Heizou] is unfettered and unrestrained in demeanor, one should not dismiss his talents.”

Other than the design, it is the official Genshin Impact page didn’t reveal all the much. Lumie, a well-established and credible leakerThe Genshin ImpactCommunity agreed Heizou was a catalyst. He is now the first male catalyst.

Heizou’s design reveal both surprised and delighted fans. Many people expected to find a Pyro male-like character. But Hoyoverse turned Heizou’s head in another direction. His purple hair is complemented by green eyes and adorable freckles. TikTok fans have already started to adore the character on Twitter, sharing videos and art.

One TikTok shows a person just sharing their excitement, “Holy fuck he’s GORGEOUS.”

Some have even made him fan comics. People seem to like his top, which I’ll describe as a fancy muscle tee that’s been cut out completely on the sides.

Other Anemo boys are eager to be adopted by Venti, Xiao and Kazuha.

Anemo is loved by so many.

We don’t know his official height yet, but it looks like he might be another short boy as well. A comic compares Xiao’s height to his own.

Kazuha now has a friend in Anemo to go Inazuma with.

For the moment Genshin Impact’s next 2.7 update has been delayed and we don’t know when we can expect Heizou in-game. Joining the ranks of newly-announced characters such as Yelan or Kuki Shinobu, he will be the first to play the game’s new characters. Until he arrives, we’ll just have to be content with fan content.
