Fall Guys Is Going Free-To-Play, Launching On Xbox And Switch Next Month

Fall Guys is a popular multiplayer obstacle-course-based game that will be available for free on June 21. 

Mediatonic (the developer of Fall Guys) announced the news today via a livestream. The launch of Season 1 will be on June 21, along with Fall Guys’ eagerly awaited arrival to Xbox platforms and Epic Games Store. 

In fact, to prepare for this shift to free-to-play, Mediatonic says PS4 players will need to download a new version of the game that’s available now. All your current cosmetics, crowns, and accessories will move over. When the Xbox version of the game goes live, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will gain access to the first of three cosmetics they’ll get as Ultimate Perks. The second and third cosmetics will arrive within the next month. 

Mediatonic also stated that new obstacles and levels will be introduced to Fall Guys in Season 1, along with new cosmetics and challenges. For those who already own Fall Guys, whether it be via purchase or when it launched on PlayStation Plus, you’ll be receiving a free Legacy Pack, which includes three costumes, a preview of the first free-to-play Season 1 pass, and more. The Legacy Pack is available to those who log in to Fall Guys by June 21. 

You will find a Premium Season Pass as well as a Season Pass for free. The free pass will include some cosmetics and more but the premium pass is what you’ll want if you’re after the most elusive items. With this new change, you’ll no longer be able to use Crowns to buy things in Fall Guys. Instead, your Crowns will increase your level in the season pass and they’ll be transferred into Kudos, which is Fall Guys’ in-game currency. 

The stream finished with an “one other thing.” This was a tease about a level creator. The exact date of when the level creator will arrive in game is unknown.
