Fornite Had Its Biggest Day Ever With 44 Million Players Thanks To Throwback OG Season

Epic Games released Fortnite Battle Royale back in 2017. If you played the game at that time, then you probably remember that it was announced every two weeks that Fortnite experienced its largest day in terms of players and other metrics. Now, more than six years later, Fortnite has had its biggest day ever again, bringing in 44.7 million players and 102 million hours of play on Saturday, November 4.
Epic Games posted this record on Saturday, describing it as the “biggest day ever in Fortnite history” before thanking Fortnite players and OGs.
What a way to kick things off!💥
The response has been amazing. #FortniteOG. Yesterday was the biggest day in Fortnite’s history with over 44.7 MILLION players jumping in and 102 MILLION hours of play.
All Fortnite players, both old and new: THANK YOU!

Epic hasn’t given a clear answer to the question of why but it seems pretty evident that this is due to the new Season. Fortnite’s Season OG is a one-month long season that takes players to Chapter 1 for some battle royale nostalgia. Near-weekly updates take players from Chapter 1: season 5 to Chapter 1.
