A very happy unbirthday to Disney Lorcana’s second Cheshire Cat card

Disney Lorcana’s second highly anticipated set of cards, titled Floodborn: Rise of the FloodbornIn stores this month. Polygon has revealed another card of the new set. We are pleased to present Cheshire Cat: From the Shadows. It is the only second Cheshire Cat to be added and it’s the first with the Lorcana’s powerful Shift ability.

The Shift feature allows the player to add new creatures and abilities onto an already existing card. As a bonus, those cards come into play at a lower cost — requiring less ink to summon. If done correctly, players can use shifting cards to create relatively inexpensive offensive units in early game play and later convert them into powerful scoring machines.

Some of the cards reveal for Floodborn: Rise of the Floodborn have been heavy hitters — including Goofy, Knight for a Day with a whopping 10 defense, 10 attack, and the ability to earn four lore when questing — this incarnation of the Cheshire Cat is actually more deadly. That’s because its Wicked Smile ability allows it to banish Any other characters on the table so long as it’s already been damaged. Ding yer pal Goof’s armor with anything at all, reducing him by just one point of damage, and the Cheshire Cat can send him packing. Best of all, he’s evasive, meaning that he can only be challenged by other creatures who are themselves also evasive.

Disney LorcanaThe game has experienced some growing-pains ever since its release earlier this summer, mainly due to the over-excited and wealthy speculators.
