For Honor getting cross-play on March 17

Fast five years, one month later Honor’s launch, the game is getting cross-play on March 17, Ubisoft announced on Thursday. The new cross-play initiative will launch in two phases, with the first coming at the start of the game’s year six plans. Phase two is in active development and Ubisoft didn’t clarify an exact timeline for its release.
This first stage of cross-play merges the matchmaking pool for every Xbox, PlayStation, or PC player. Ubisoft said that this will make matchmaking much quicker, but players might need to play some games to reset their skill rating. Cross-play match matches will be without voice chat. Ubisoft plans to restore it later.
Phase one is for healthier living. HonorPhase two of community will likely include the best features players would like to test: cross play groups with friends. Even with cross-play enabled on March 17, players won’t be able to play with their friends on different platforms, and will need to wait for phase two’s completion.
Cross-play includes almost all modes, including PvP (phase 2 will correct this issue), Training, Custom, Arcade and Ranked. Players will default to Cross-play, although they have the option of opting out via the in-game menu.
The blog post offers no mention of cross-progression or saves, which players are already clamoring for in Ubisoft’s comment section.
