First Official Fallout TV Series Image Might Hint At The Show’s Setting

Amazon Studios and Kilter Films have released a teaser image for its in-development Fallout TV series based on the game franchise of the same name and it might hint at its setting.

Bethesda Game Studios revealed back in 2020 it would be collaborating with Amazon Studios and Kilter Films on a Fallout TV show. Initial details reveal that Westworld creators and producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy signed onto the project and are partnering with Fallout 4 director and long-time Bethesda producer Todd Howard to bring the show to life.

The only thing that has been published since then is a 2021 Report that describes the show as “gonzo and crazy, funny adventure”, and some set photos which reveal very accurate costumes and set designs. Amazon today released the first official look at Fallout:

The vault inhabitants are likely Vault 33 dwellers, as you can see. We haven’t been to this Vault yet in Fallout 3, but have heard about vaults close by. Vault 34 is located in Fallout 3. It is located outside the Las Vegas area in the Mojave Desert.

This knowledge will help you determine if Vault 33 can be found nearby, or on at least the West Coast. (assuming that the vault placement rules are the same as in the games). The vault numbers on the East Coast are higher. They’re similar to the Vault 112 starting vault in Fallout 4. This is speculation, and it is possible that we are wrong. However, we don’t think we would be surprised to see Fallout TV set in the west side of the United States. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Although there isn’t a release date yet for the series, production is already underway so we are betting that it will be in 2023. You can read more about Fallout 4’s new-gen updates coming up in the next year.
