Fallout 76’s 2022 content roadmap takes players to The Pitt this fall

Fallout 76’s content roadmap for 2022 will take players beyond Appalachia to the Alleghenies — The Pitt, to be precise, or the ruins of Pittsburgh, the setting and namesake of Fallout 3’s Second expansion.

The Pitt and the mode introducing it, Expeditions, were teased during Bethesda and Xbox’s E3 presentation last June. Expeditions will feature story-driven missions with repeatable outcomes, set in new places. Jeff Gardiner is the producer. Fallout 76He was also director for the premium DLC 2009

The PittPlayers traveled underground railway to reach the desiccated city of steel, where three rivers carried irradiated waters that had mutated and sickened the survivors. The Hole is an arena where players fight for their lives in an underground mine. Finally, players must decide whether they want to join their captors’ ranks or rebel against them.

Bethesda Game Studios isn’t yet saying what awaits players in western Pennsylvania, but they’ll get there from a hub in the resort area of Whitespring. Based on last year’s teaser, it looks like they might be flown in by Vertibird.

Also coming in 2022, Vault Dwellers will battle extraterrestrial threats, fight gladiator robots, and deal with Nuka-World’s traveling magical mystery tour over seasons 8 to 11. This is an overview of the roadmap that was published Monday. It does not include much detail. A Fallout Worlds update will be available along with Season 8 – A Better Life Underground in the spring.

Fallout Worlds are the monthly set of new instances, some open to everyone, and the custom worlds subscribers to Fallout 1st get to manage and host.

The settings and events for seasons 9, 10, and 11 are all “stay tuned” for now. These will be supported by scoresboard updates and new missions.
