Evil Dead: The Game – Meet The Demons
In Evil Dead: The Game, if you’re looking to play as the Demon, you have your work cut out for you. It can be difficult to manage four players on your own, but there are many wicked tools available. You have a variety of tools at your disposal, including traps, Deadites and survivors that can be used to pinpoint and eliminate targets. Each different Demon comes with a special kit that syncs up with various playstyles, so let’s take a look at the three core Demon templates you’ll have available to play with at launch. You can level up each of the kits at your account level to increase lethality or efficacy.
The Warlord, the first Demon and one that I highly recommend for those who are first evil doers, is also the one I recommended. This kit is really easy to understand – it’s all about power and buffs. You need big Deadites who can resist and deliver a lot of pain quickly. He is not subtle and doesn’t care about any frills. The Warlord wants to be the ruler of the survivors. With a handful of Deadites in the world, it is possible to win a war with clever positioning and control. The boss of the Warlord template is Henrietta, a hideous ghoul that can lock down a single survivor while destroying them, the perfect play to unleash after you’ve sown some confusion with traps or Deadites. Henrietta excels against teams who are trying to grab an objective, reduce fear or increase their fear through fire. Henrietta has the ability to launch a deadly bellyflop and unleash area of effect toxic gas. If you’re trying to learn how to play Demon, Warlord is probably the best place to start.

Puppeteer may be the Demon that you choose if your demonic efforts require more planning and precision. Puppeteer won my favor during my demo. Although it required more set-up than other Demons, the results were electrifying. As a Puppeteer, you’re going to have to learn Deadite movesets quite intimately, and how to time them to disorient survivors when they are at their most vulnerable – much of your potency can hinge on possession. Your Deadites are a bit more fragile than other templates, but they have an interesting disable skill and crowd control abilities that can be devastating when used properly. Eligos is the Puppeteer’s top unit. You might recognize him from TV. Ash vs. Evil Dead. Eligos is able to hide in battle and flit from survivor-to-survivor, which allows him to cause havoc. Once you’re comfortable with understanding how Demon play works, Puppeteer offers a satisfying high-skill ceiling to pursue.
Finally, there’s the Demon which will likely be the most popular due to the boss unit involved. The Necromancer utilizes skeletal Deadites (yep, it’s basically Army of DarknessA skeleton fluteist leads the flautist, who will lead you to defeat your opponents. The flautists are vulnerable and don’t move, but provide a huge buff to other Deadites nearby, allowing you to cleverly manage an entire legion of buffed-up skeletons to tear the survivors apart. Evil Ash is the boss of Necromancer loadout, so you’ll see him running around summoning skeletons and chasing down life-stealing opponents.
