Everything You Need To Know About Fortnite Chapter 4: Season OG

Fortnite Chapter 4, Season OG, will be live within a few short hours, once the downtime has been completed. It brings players to the Chapter 1 map from 2018, with throwback vehicles, weapons, loot and other items. Epic Games has dubbed it Season OG despite the fact that it’s actually Season 5 of Fortnite Chapter 4 which followed last year’s Last Resort. This makes sense given how many elements of Fortnite 2018 are included.

Each new season update will bring a unique phase from Fortnite Chapter 1’s past. This nostalgia begins with Season 5. This means that weapons such as the Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun and Shopping Carts will appear in both Zero Build Fortnite and Battle Royale Fortnite. 

Fortnite Season 4: All You Need to Know

While each update listed below brings new weapons and more to Season OG, all based on previous Chapter 1 seasons, Epic says some of the unvaulted gear will remain throughout the updates while others will stay for just that update. Unvaulted items are listed below: 

Season 5: Return of Tilted Greasy and Risky

Tilted towers, which were first released in Chapter 1: season 2, will be a feature on the island until Season 9 of the Season OG update. Epic Games has also added All Terrain Karts as well as other vehicles and traps that were part of the Season 5 original Chapter 1. The Assault Rifle is included, as are the Pump Shotgun and Hunting Rifles. Damage Traps are also now unvaulted, along with Grapplers and Boogie Bombs.

Darkness Rises on Loot Lake in Season 6

The v27.00 Update will be live November 9th. Players can expect to see darkness in Loot Lake. This includes weapons like the Double Barrel Shotgun (also known as the Clinger), Six Shooter, and the Clinger. Quadcrashers, Mounted Turrets, Port-a-Fortresses, as well as the Quadcrashers, Mounted Turrets, etc., are all returning alongside Chiller Traps and Port-a-Fortresses (note that the Chiller Traps and Port-a-Fortresses will not be available in Zero Build Modes). The Driftboard also makes an appearance on this island. 

Seasons 7 and 8, Of Chill and Treasure

After it is released, on November 16, both Season 7 and 8 will be included in the update v27.10. This update brings a variety of new features, including a Snow Biome, Frosty Flgiths (a type of ice), pirate camps, swashbuckling clothing, etc. The Flint-Knock Pistol is one of the weapons. Other weapons include Miniguns, Quad Launchers, and Miniguns. Other items include the Poison Dart Trap, Itemized Glider Redeploy, and Buried Treasure (the Poison Dart Trap will not be in Zero Build, though). Players can also use vehicles like the X-4 storming. If you have trouble taking it out, you could try using the Pirate Cannon, which launches teammates in the air. 

Seasons 9 and X Blast Off!

The update v27.11, which celebrates Fornite Chapter 1 Season 9 and Season X will be released on November 23. Weapons like the Heavy Sniper Rifle, Air Strike and Junk Rift will be on the island, along with other loot such as the Proximity Grenade Launcher. This update also adds The Baller, the Jetpack and Storm Flip to the game. 

Fortnite Season OG Battle Pass & Item Shop

Epic says in a recent press release: “A turbo-speed OG time travel season is the brand-new OG Pass.” In just four weeks, the OG Pass will unlock over 50 brand new items in game. You can purchase the OG Pass for 950 V Bucks. However, you will earn 1000 V Bucks by progressing through the OG Pass. Fortnite Crew Subscribers? Fortnite Crew Subscription: OG Pass included. 

Epic has announced that the OG Shop will feature curated collections of new, classic and mashup items. Outfits and accessories from the OG Item Shop will be only available for a short time. As usual, there will be new items added daily, at 7 p.m. ET. ET.

Fortnite 4 Season OG Ranking

In Chapter 4: Season OG, as is usual for a brand new season your ranking has been reset. Your rank will be revealed after you play just one match. The performance of your match in the first round does not affect your ranking, but your match performance does. Epic warns you that higher rank matchmaking may take some time. This is especially true if your previous ranking was lower. 

Epic wrote in a release that because Fortnite OG is a shorter season, the rank progression at higher and middle ranks will be quicker to account for this. Players will receive fewer penalties for losing early and their progress bar will increase slightly more quickly. We’ve also made the Bronze rank players progress faster, allowing friends to queue up across ranks and see more consistent progression. 

If you leave the Battle Bus while playing a ranking match, you will receive a Ranked Urgent Quest. Completing certain numbers of Ranked Urgent Quests will unlock special ingame rewards. You only need to complete one Ranked Urgent Quest while playing Fortnite Chapter 4 : Season OG in order to get the Chapter 1-inspired Ranker’s tags Back Bling. The color will be the rank that you have reached in this season.
